And all of my so-called “problems” began to diminish when I realized
I am
the scowl-faced old man standing on the corner about to cross the road
I am
the flock of local birds that fly in circles over the same acre over and over only to land on the same power line they did a few minutes ago
I am
the group of young girls tripping over each other as they drunkenly cackle over the punchlines their old lovers would throw at them
I am
the fly the nicely dressed businesswoman swatted and cursed at when she got out of her car to go into work
I am all of these things
And I sometimes can’t help but wonder
If they’re aware they are me, too
