The Damned

See no evil, hear no evil is the way I live my life

Always very careful

Cutting once, and measuring twice

I wouldn’t hurt a spider,

If the spider wouldn’t hurt me

I’d be damned if I got caught in love ties,

if it’s something I could foresee

Though we were never near

I would find you in my dreams

Too many mornings burning daylight

Interpreting what it means

So when I saw you coming, I would go the other way

If you tried talking,

Only few words I’d choose to say

Luckily you moved

without as much as a word

I was genuinely relieved

At least I told myself that at first

But I have this ache in my diaphragm

& the itchiest frog in my throat

So i wrote this rhyme as a confession

& to thank that man for moving up the coast
