Still Here

When life gets heavy

We learn how to breathe again

We count our blessing while pressing our fingers in the palm of our hands

Taking in each breath in like it’s our last

Exhaling like it’s our first

And like the waves we let our feeling flow

Watch them crash

Until it becomes white noise and we come to peace

Lifting weary eyes to the heavens so our tears can dry

And with the release of a heavy burden

Our shoulders become as light as feathers

Granted a fresh outlook as were able to search for a new sound.

Though this will be repeated

Don’t feel so defeated just bury your hand in the sand

Because when life gets heavy

Just know you’ll learn how to breathe again.
