Seen

Few people see

The little details about you

Like I do:

How your fingers twitch

Against the lunchroom table,

How contact lessens

When uncomfortableness rises

And your voice daggers

When boundaries are broken;

How after a long dusk

Of rivers falling upon your pillow,

I see the tiredness in your pupils.

Know full well

That I'll be there for you,

A hand to steady the ground below

When life burdens, blow after blow.
